Notice of condolence: Kuman Ellis
Lhere Artepe Native Title Holders, members, staff and Board of Directors extend their condolences to the family of the late Kuman Ellis. She was a proud Arrernte Woman who represented her people with pride and dignity.
Kuman Ellis was passionate about putting Culture back into the Western World systems which is why she was a driving force behind the track made from Emily to Jessie Gaps.
"Her legacy will live and never to be forgotten as she will be missed dearly. Another strong Arrernte angel to watch over us”

Lhere Artepe Aboriginal Corporation is proud to host the first Anwerne-Kenhe Alterreke Atnyentyeke Keep Our Ways Strong (KOWS) Interschool Event on Tuesday 5 August 2025 at Yirara College. The event will bring together students from Yirara College, Yipirinya School, and St Joseph’s Catholic Flexible School for a day of culture, sport, leadership, and community connection. In the lead-up to the event, students have been working on their entries for the KOWS Logo Design Competition – creating artwork that represents the message “Keep Our Ways Strong.” The winning design will be unveiled on the day, with prizes generously supported by local organisations, including Alice Springs Town Council and Yeperenye Shopping Centre. This event builds on the success of our recent KOWS NAIDOC celebration and continues our commitment to hearing from young people, strengthening cultural identity, and supporting safe and strong communities.
