Cultural Services
LAAC’s Cultural Services uphold Central Arrernte cultural heritage, reinforcing LAAC’s role as a cultural authority, ensuring the continuation of traditions and values.
This includes Welcome to Country ceremonies, smoking ceremonies, cultural dancing, cross-cultural training, Proof of Aboriginality services for Central Arrernte descendants and more.
Welcome to Country
Please note: there will be NO More Welcome to Country for 2025 as of 16/12/2025.
We will notify for 2026 shortly.
As is protocol when visiting other places, Welcome to Country performances are a service we provide. There are three possible elements for a Welcome to Country:
- Native Title Holder to attend and speak at your event, welcoming all attendees to Country
- Inclusion of a smoking ceremony
- Inclusion of a traditional dance

Lhere Artepe uses Native Title Holders to undertake such services at a small fee which goes back to the individual and body corporate.
Cross-Cultural Training
We offer cross-cultural training about the importance of understanding the Arrernte culture and way of life.
