Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUA)
LAAC manages Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUAs) as part of its Native Title obligations. These agreements are legally binding arrangements between Native Title groups and other parties (such as government bodies, developers, or businesses) that regulate land use and access.
ILUAs are vital for securing economic benefits, protecting cultural sites, and ensuring Traditional Owners are actively involved in decisions affecting their lands. Through these agreements, LAAC continues to advocate for sustainable development that aligns with community priorities and cultural preservation.
This core work supports LAAC’s strategic focus on governance, leadership, and cultural authority.
