Traditional Owners Foot Patrol Program
The Traditional Owners Foot Patrol Program is a culturally led community safety initiative in Mparntwe (Alice Springs) and surrounding areas. Managed by Lhere Artepe Aboriginal Corporation (LAAC) and funded by the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), this program places respected Traditional Owners and Aboriginal leaders on the ground—walking with community, restoring calm, and preventing harm. Our presence reflects cultural strength, leadership, and local knowledge.

Led by Traditional Owners
We walk with respect and authority, drawing on cultural law and deep ties to Country. While grounded in the Mparntwe, Antulye, and Irlpme estate groups, we work with Aboriginal leaders from across Central Australia to ensure our patrols are inclusive and culturally responsive. We collaborate with:
- Outreach services
- Youth and AOD programs
- NT Police (non-enforcement)
- Local families, Elders, and cultural advisors
